Diakoneo. From the Greek meaning "to be a servant; to minister; to attend to anything that may serve another's interest."
The Bible says that Jesus "came not to be waited on but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many [the price paid to set them free]" (Matthew 20:28 Amplified). Serving was a common practice of Christ...from healing the sick, to raising the dead, to the feeding of the five thousand. Determine to make it a common practice in your life today.
Love from the center of who you are; dont' fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle. Don't burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don't quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.
